Our Montecito veterinarians bring years of experience and training — and a passion for helping pets — to provide diagnoses and effective veterinary dermatology treatments for cats and dogs.
Pet Skin Conditions
Dogs and cats can suffer from a variety of chronic and inflammatory skin conditions — some more common than others.
These include bacterial and fungal infections, allergies, chronic scratching and more. Locally, we see the "Santa Barbara Itch".
With years of training and experience in veterinary dermatology, our veterinarians can differentiate between various symptoms related to pet skin conditions.
This allows for a more accurate diagnosis and the most effective treatment.
The "Santa Barbara Itch"
Itchy skin is almost an inevitable side effect of living in the paradise of Santa Barbara. Our veterinarians are highly skilled at relieving pets of itchy symptoms, often without using steroid medications long-term. We look forward to providing a second opinion and welcoming you as a lifetime client.
What to Expect at Your Pet’s Appointment
We can recommend effective treatment options based on their needs. Our diagnostic process typically includes:
Examination & Diagnosis
To start the appointment, the veterinarian will review your pet's history to help diagnose their condition. Next, they'll use the diagnostic tools in our in-house laboratory to find the source of your pet’s skin condition.
Once your vet has pinpointed the cause of your pet's skin condition, we can develop a treatment plan. This may include special shampoo or conditioner, prescription medication, simple changes to your pet's environment or other options.
